If you need to contact the Elections Department the best way is through email.
- Email is always the best way to communicate through: vote@cassia.gov for the following reasons:
- Provides documentation for time and content of all requests and responses
- Telephone messages require considerable time and resources to both listen to and respond to in a timely manner
- Fax messages can be disrupted when transmitted, may not be retrieved timely, are ofttimes illegible or not even received
- Personal impromptu appearance to the Cassia County Courthouse Elections department may be at a time that a member of the Elections department may not be available due to other duties.

Voter Registration Questions
You can register online at voteidaho.gov/
You can fill out a Registration Card and email it to votes@cassia.gov. If you email your registration you will need to provide a copy of proper photo identification and residence verification as it is required prior to issuance of a ballot.
3) An individual shall prove identity for the purpose of registering to vote by showing one (1) of the following forms of photo identification:
a) A current driver’s license or identification card issued pursuant to title 49, Idaho Code;
b) A current passport or other identification card issued by an agency of the United States government;
c) A current tribal identification card; or
d) A current license or enhanced license to carry concealed weapons issued under section 18-3302, Idaho Code, or section 18-3302K, Idaho Code.
4) An individual shall prove residence for the purpose of registering to vote by showing one (1) of the following documents that displays the applicant’s name and current Idaho physical address:
i. Any form of photo identification listed in subsection (3)(a), (c), or (d) of this section;
ii. A current proof of insurance;
iii. A deed of trust, mortgage, or lease or rental agreement;
iv. A property tax assessment, bill, or receipt;
v. A utility bill, excluding a cellular telephone bill;
vi. A bank or credit card statement;
vii. A paystub, paycheck, or government-issued check;
viii. An intake document from a residential care or assisted living facility licensed pursuant to the provisions of chapter 33, title 39, Idaho Code;
ix. Enrollment papers issued for the current school year by a high school or an accredited institution of higher education located within the state of Idaho; or A communication on letterhead from a public or private social service agency registered with the secretary of state verifying the applicant is homeless and attesting to the applicant’s residence for registration purposes. - You can mail the completed Registration Card to Cassia County Courthouse 1459 Overland Ave Room 105 Burley, ID 83318
- If you mail your registration registration you will need to provide a copy of proper photo identification and residence verification as it is required prior to issuance of a ballot.

Absentee Ballot Voting Questions
- You must be registered to vote before you can submit an Absentee ballot request. You can send in both forms at the same time.[§34-1001, Idaho Code]
- Fill out the Absentee Ballot Application. [§34-1002, Idaho Code]
- You can submit your request online at this state website: vote.idaho.gov/
- You can fill out and sign the Absentee Request Form then email it to vote@cassia.gov
- If you need us to, we can mail you an absentee ballot request just call us at 208-878-5240.
Applications must be received by the county clerk by 5:00 p.m. on the eleventh day before the election [§34-1002(7), Idaho Code]
County clerks must mail absentee ballots — to voters who have requested absentee ballots — 45 days before the election. [§34-1003(3), Idaho Code]
As soon as you get your ballot you can return it.
- By Mail: Allowing ample time for mail delivery, via the U.S. Postal Service.
- In-Person: Hand deliver to the Elections Office, Room 105.

Early Voting Questions

- Early voting shall begin on or before the third Monday before the election and end at 5:00 p.m. on the Friday before the election. [§34-1012]
- When there is Early Voting it is open Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

- Absentee Voting

- Persons convicted of felonies in Idaho or other states or jurisdictions shall be allowed to register and vote in Idaho upon final discharge which means satisfactory completion of imprisonment, probation and parole as the case may be. [§34-1003(3,4), Idaho Code]

- The ballot shall be mailed no sooner than twenty-four (24) days prior to the election day and no later than the fourteenth day prior to the election. [§34-308(3)]
